REMEMBER that the doctor
you call out in the evening or middle of the night will have worked all the day
before and will be working the next day so please confine your calls to genuine
emergencies.
NB: The doctors use mobile
phones for their 'on call' work which enables them to operate with increased efficiency.
This means that patients can speak directly to the doctor in most cases.
Make sure you have enough money if
you are calling from a phone-box - it is a little more expensive to ring a mobile
phone than a land line.
To contact a doctor out of hours
ALWAYS telephone the surgery first and the answering machine will give
the number of the duty doctor.
